Teacher's Aide in British Columbia
Teacher's Aide in British Columbia
Teacher’s aide schools in British Columbia prepare students for a career in education as a classroom aide. Most teacher’s aide programs are offered at community colleges and result in a certificate or two-year associate’s degree. Teacher’s aides perform many of the same duties as teachers, but are not allowed to assess and directly teach in the classroom. Many aides work with individual students or in small groups to provide extra support. The majority of teacher’s aides work in the K-12 elementary school system and support multiple teachers. Although the industry suffered from public school system budget cutbacks, teacher’s aide positions will increase as the economy begins to grow.
