Answers for Parents
This counseling and intervention free service is available for parents who are considering professional intervention for their child, teen, or young adult. Answers for Parents offers consultation and program recommendations from qualified AFP counsellors – and teachers and educators can take advantage of their seminars and workshops to enhance their counseling and education skills.
The counsellors at AFT are specially trained to help parents determine why, when, and how to stage an intervention on their child, and get them enrolled into an appropriate program. They have researched hundreds of programs, and have selected those that are the most successful with helping children overcome that their problems.
Parents are encouraged to call Answers for Parents and anytime they feel that the child may be in danger. Counselors are specially trained to detect whether children are in trouble, headed for trouble, or just being kids. A discussion with an Answers for Parents counsellor can help parents determine if intervention is necessary, and lay out the steps for staging a successful intervention. If it is deemed necessary, you will be requested to complete an online assessment form to outline the needs of your child. An assessment team will review your application in a timely manner, and decide which program is the best fit for your child. They will then put you in touch with the enrolment department of the chosen program so you can get your child admitted as quickly as possible.
