Ashford University

Ashford University, located in Clinton, Ohio, began its history in 1918 as Mount St. Clare College designed to serve the area of Clinton. Over the years, Mount St. Clare expanded with construction of a library and various buildings. In 1979, Mount St. Clare was approved to offer baccalaureate degrees and, in 2004, master's degree programs. The college was known as The Franciscan University from 2002 until 2005, when the university was bought by Bridgepoint Education, Inc. and renamed Ashford University.
