Ashworth College has been accredited by the Distance Education and Training Council since 1987. The Council, a non-profit education association, was founded in 1926 and is located in Washington, DC. The Council is recognized globally as an accreditation agency for distance and online education and is approved by the US Department of Education.

Ashworth College offers distance education through both online and correspondence courses. Students write their examinations and lesson tests online.

Ashworth College has an Associate's degree program in Early Childhood Education, Undergraduate Certificate in Early Childhood Education, and Child Care Career Course and Teacher Assisting Course to choose from.

The Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education consists of twenty courses, including business, psychology, child development, literature and literacy, health, nutrition, and cultural diversity. The Undergraduate Certificate in Early Childhood Education comprises of one mandatory course, Careers in Early Childhood Education, and a choice of four electives from a roster of twelve courses. Credits earned in the Undergraduate Certificate can be applied to the associate's degree.

Both the Child Care Career Course and Teacher Assisting Course contain twelve lessons. Reading assignments, lesson examinations, and instructors notes are provided to students. Lessons in the Child Care Career Course cover healthy, safe learning environments; activity planning; and operating a child care facility. Lessons in the Teacher Assisting Course encompass the classroom environment as a teacher assistant, child behaviour, child development, and learning activities.

All programs provide textbooks, learning guides, tutorial assistance, student support, and examinations, which are included in tuition fees.

Instructors have real-world experience in the disciplines they teach. Ashford College employs on-site and off-site educators.

Enrollment is on an open enrollment basis and the curriculum is self-paced. Ashford College tuition fees can be paid on a monthly interest-free plan, after payment of an initial fee. Ashford College has approval for military education programs.
