Baker College Campus

Baker Campus College was established in 1911 in the State of Michigan. Today, there are 15 campuses throughout the state, as well as a virtual campus. Baker College is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission, A Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Baker College is also acknowledged by the US Department of Education.

Baker Campus College has four options for education programs: Education Certificate, Associate of Applied Science, Bachelor of Science in Education, and Postbaccalaureate Certificates. Each program has prerequisites, such as a general education core. A compulsory course consisting of study strategies and Baker College services and policies is also required.

A Child Care Assistant certificate prepares students to work with young children in various settings under the supervision of child care professionals. The program is geared toward a Child Development Associate credential, which is a national qualification to teach child care. This program is available at 11 Baker College campuses.

Offered at six campus locations, the Associate of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education provides hands-on experience planning, developing curriculum and creating activities, practical and theoretical studies, and prepares the student for advocacy and supervisory and administrative positions in child care settings.

The Bachelor of Science in Education Elementary Teacher Preparation program offers majors in English, language arts, mathematics, or social sciences, with a minor in elementary studies. The Secondary Teacher Preparation confers majors in English, mathematics, or social studies and a minor in one of biology, chemistry, computer science, history, or mathematics.

Nineteen Postbaccalaureate Certificates are available, covering various elementary, secondary, and teacher preparation programs.

The associate's degree, bachelor's degree, and postbaccalaureate programs are accessible either at a Baker College campus or through its online format.

Baker College has an articulation program whereby credits earned at secondary school and adult education may possibly be applied towards certification and degree programs.

Baker College has learning support services, career services, residential halls, and financial assistance advisors.
