Early Childhood Education in Florida
Early childhood education programs prepare students for a career as an early childhood educator teaching preschool aged children. Early childhood education programs are typically offered within a community college or university. Most programs offer a two-year associate’s degree or a certificate. Most students work in child daycare facilities, after school programs, and youth organizations such as the YMCA and Girls & Boys Clubs. Many students go on and open up their own private day care facilities. Curriculum focuses on childhood development, and teaching methodologies for children aged 2-6. Students also spend time in an early childhood education facility working with children.
