Educational technology schools expose students to the use of computers and technology in the classrooms. Training consists of computer science, education, multimedia technology, distance learning and assessment. Degree options consist of a four-year bachelor’s, six-year master’s and doctoral degree. Most educational technology schools in the District of Columbia allow the option of combining an educational technology degree with other education courses. Emphasis can be applied in either education or computer science. A degree in educational technology allows students to obtain successful employment in a higher learning institution, public school, private school, IT department, or an education-based business or corporation.
