Educational Technology in New Mexico
Educational technology students learn how to best implement technology in classrooms and learning institutions, to enhance teaching and learning for teachers and students. Educational technology schools offer four-year bachelor’s degrees in this growing field. It can best be described as a major that combines computer science and education, although it is not as technical as computer science. Subjects cover web development, distance learning, multimedia learning, and assessment. Educational technology can be a standalone major or an area of concentration within an education degree. This career pays higher than most education jobs due to the technical expertise it requires. Job openings are expected to be steady but competitive over the next 10 years.
