Elementary Education in Idaho
Elementary education schools offer students bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in education. Students can start with classes at the community college level while eventually transferring to a four-year institution to achieve a bachelor’s degree in education. States require potential teachers to have an accredited bachelor’s degree and a valid teaching certificate to gain employment at a public school. Students will take core education courses in addition to general education courses such as history, speech, English composition, psychology, humanities and foreign language. Typical classes within the major include educational psychology, teaching and learning theory, classroom assessment, instructional technology, and teaching methods.
