Elementary Education in Nevada
Elementary education schools prepare graduates to become certified elementary school teachers in the K-8 school system. Students can choose careers in public or private education. The vast majority of students work for public education school districts that require a bachelor’s degree and a valid teaching license. Classes include a mixture of education courses and general classes required for all students at the school. Students can choose from bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees. Bachelor’s degree students must also spend one term student teaching in an approved classroom under the supervision of a certified teacher. This experience takes place at the end of the student’s program.
