ESL in Georgia
ESL schools teach non-native English speakers the English language using a variety of basic adult education learning techniques. Students can expect to navigate the several levels of ESL courses as their language proficiency increases. ESL courses are non-degree bearing courses but can lead to students being proficient enough in English to become post-secondary students. ESL courses are typically subsidized through grants and other funding sources with little cost to the student. Most ESL graduates enter adult basic education courses to prepare them for the GED exam. The majority of students desire to learn working English in order to enter the workforce.
