General Teaching in Pennsylvania
General teaching schools in Pennsylvania offer a wide range of educational options. An associate’s degree is one route students may take in obtaining a general teaching certificate in two years time. A bachelor’s degree takes four years to complete and a master’s degree in general teaching takes a total of six years on average. The core groups of classes that make up the teaching program include theoretical foundations, approaches to childhood education, and middle school language development. The program allows students to choose from early childhood education, middle school grades, and secondary or special education degrees. Courses are fast-paced and designed for the motivated student.
