Grand Canyon University
Grand Canyon University has both online and campus programs. Grand Canyon University, a private non-denominational Christian university based in Phoenix, Arizona, came into existence in 1946 through the efforts of Southern Baptist congregations.
A regional accrediting association, The Higher Learning Commission of North Central Association, accredits the Grand Canyon University. The College of Education has the ability to recommend certification of teaching professionals and administrators.
Grand Canyon University offers both master's and bachelor of science degrees through the College of Education. Programs are tailored to accommodate both full-time students and working professionals. Intake sessions occur every eight weeks and a bachelor's or master's degree can be earned within 18 to 24 months. Students may choose to pursue their degree online or on campus. Grand Canyon University does not have the capabilities for a simultaneous academic schedule of online and on-ground courses.
Admission requirements for the online master's programs are a bachelor's degree, undergraduate cumulative GPA of 2.8, and two years full-time real-world experience.
The master's programs include a Master of Arts in Teaching, Master of Education Curriculum and Instruction (Reading or Technology), Master of Education in Education Administration (plus Organizational Leadership or School Leadership), Master of Education in Elementary School or Secondary School, Master of Education in Special Education, Master of Education in Special Education: Certified Special Educators, and Master of Education in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. All master's programs are available online and on campus.
A Bachelor of Science in Physical Education: Health Education is offered on campus.
Rooms, suites, and apartments are accessible for on-campus student housing. While there are no qualification limitations for the rooms and suites, the apartments do have some restrictions.
Grand Canyon University has financial assistance advisors available to help students access all possible financial aid avenues, such as federal and state student aid, employer benefits, grants, and scholarships.
Grand Canyon University has approximately 25,000 students and boasts a 99% placement rate for their College of Education graduates.
