Interactive College of Technology
Located in Chamblee, Georgia, the Interactive College of Technology was established in 1982 and has additional campuses in Huston, Florence, and Kentucky. The school offers associate degrees and diplomas in various areas, including accounting and computer information systems.
Interactive College of Technology offers English as a Second Language in order to assist students in transitioning to an English career environment. Considered one of the largest programs of its kind in the United States, upon completion of this program students will be able to comfortably enter any English speaking environment, continue their studies in education, or find a rewarding career in their chosen profession.
Student Options
All applicants to the Interactive College of Technology must complete an interview with the admissions department in order to determine their desire and ability to graduate from their chosen program. Students must provide proof of high school graduation or equivalency, although some diploma programs may admit students who have not graduated high school.
Students applying to the English as a Second Language program must also proven ability to understand the English alphabet, as well as commonly spoken words. Each applicant will be required to complete a CELSA placement exam. Students unable to meet requirements may be admitted into a pre-literacy program in order to get their skill level ready for the ESL program.
Financial Aid
For financial assistance, students are requested to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid Form (FAFSA) when applying to their chosen program, so the school can determine financial aid eligibility. Students with a demonstrated financial need may be granted access to the Interactive College of Technology work study program, in order earn part of their tuition and cut down the cost of education. Students need to be assessed by the Financial Planning office and the Employment Assistance Department.
Financial aid is available to those who qualify.
Accreditation : The institution is accredited by the Commission of the Council on Occupational Education (COE), which is the successor to COEI of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), 41 Perimeter Center East, NE, Suite 640, Atlanta, Georgia 30346. Telephone 770-396-3898.
The above council is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and by the Council on Regional Post Secondary Accreditation (CORPA).
COE is also a member of the Commission on International and Transregional Accreditation Alliance (CITA). This alliance, composed of most of the regional accrediting agencies, offers a system of accreditation to over 30,000 public and private institutions in over one hundred countries. By virtue of the institution being accredited by COE, the institution also holds accreditation in the CITA.
