Kent State University

Kent State University is a public, co-educational research university. The main campus is located in Kent, Ohio, with satellite campuses throughout Ohio. Since 1910 Kent State University has been offering excellent education options to students, and in 2010 the school was ranked one of America’s top universities by the U.S. News and World Report.



The university offers a wide selection of associate degrees, undergraduate degrees, certificate, and graduate studies in many programs, so students can find the education that suits them.

Students wishing to pursue an education in sign language, gifted child education, physical education, intervention specialist, justice studies, or sociology can find everything they need through the university to complete their degree and find successful employment. The university also has excellent fine arts and sciences programs for teachers who want to combine their love of teaching with a passion for the arts, or a particular field of science. Students can also choose from individual courses in order to construct their own personalized education program.

Admission requirements vary by program; students are encouraged to use the online exploratory advising center in order to help determine which programs they want to apply to, and whether they qualify. Most programs can be applied for online; however students are also encouraged to contact the admissions office directly should they need assistance finding or applying to a particular program.

Over 85% of Kent State University students receive financial aid and their freshman year, and students can apply for financial aid, grants, and scholarships online. Students can also search for, research, and apply for Kent State and external scholarships through the Kent State University website, and find alternative funding sources that can help defer the cost of education.
