Liberty University

Founded in 1971, Liberty University is the largest evangelical university in the world. Since 1985, Liberty University has been offering distance education courses for students who require the flexibility of online learning. Most courses last for eight weeks, although some are longer. Students can complete their assignments according to their own schedule, as long as they meet course milestones. Liberty University Online has over 40 degree programs for students to choose from, as well as courses for students to upgrade their great 11 and 12 programs in order to receive high school equivalency. Students looking to upgrade their skills or complete a previously started degree program can easily fit their studies into their schedule, and obtain a degree in education.

Liberty University Online uses a convenient online learning program called Blackboard, which allows students to talk online with professors and classmates. Assignments and coursework are completed online, and students are able to complete tasks of their own pace, provided that they remain on track to complete the course, as well as any final exams or papers that are required.

Through the online Blackboard program, students have access to the library, study aids, and other resources in order to help them successfully complete their studies online.

The majority of Liberty University students (up to 95%) at least partially utilize financial aid, so Liberty University has a well-staffed financial aid office to help students find the funding they need to complete their studies. Liberty University also gives discounts for tuition to students who are currently or formerly in the military.

The university has staff online who are specifically trained to assist students with enrolment and selecting courses. All courses have different entrance requirements, so students will need to submit the appropriate transcripts in order to be admitted.
