Teacher Certification in Washington

The state of Washington is the forty-second state admitted to the United States and is the only state named for a past president. Some of the most well-known peaks in the United States are located in Washington, including Glacier Peak, Mount Rainier, and the active volcano Mount St. Helens. Washington features nine national forests and a number of military posts. Agriculture is important to Washington's economy; the state leads the nation in producing red raspberries, sweet cherries, pears, and apples. Washington is home to six state universities and twenty-four private universities as well as a number of community colleges.
