Secondary Education in Nevada
Secondary education schools in Nevada prepare students to be high school teachers. Nevada requires students to possess a bachelor’s degree and teaching certificate in order to gain a full-time position as a high school teacher. Secondary education teachers major in the subject they want to teach, and also take teaching classes to teach them teaching and learning methods. Examples of secondary teaching subjects include history, mathematics, English, science, music, and physical education. According to data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, secondary teaching is expected to grow at an accelerated rate because of the pending retirements of thousands of high school teachers.
