Secondary education schools offer bachelor’s and master’s degrees to students interested in teaching students at the high school level. Secondary education students are required to major in the subject they plan on teaching such as math, English, history, and science. This ensures the student has mastery of the subject matter and can intelligently convey it to their students. They also take teaching courses to help them understand effective teaching methods.
