Special Education in Arizona

Special education schools prepare students to teach students with disabilities. Core classes focus on teaching methods and practices for students who are physically and developmentally disabled. To teach special education in a public school, it’s required to have a valid teaching license with a specialization in special education. Programs are offered at community colleges and four-year institution. The majority of students graduate with a bachelor’s degree in education with a concentration in special education. The job market for special education teachers is expected to be favorable for the next 10-15 years as baby boomers retire, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
