Special Education in Nevada

Special education schools prepare students who desire to be educators of children with special needs and disabilities. Special education teachers often instruct in classes called resource rooms, where they work with a variety of disabled learners who have different needs and are of different ages. Special education programs are usually offered through universities and four-year colleges. Students can complete their general education courses at a community college then transfer to a four-year institution. Special education courses include assessment, curriculum development, classroom behavior management, special education assistive technology, special education policy, and child psychology. Graduates can expect to find favorable job conditions through at least the next decade.
