Special Education in Utah

Special education schools prepare students for careers in the classroom educating those with physical and mental disabilities. Special education bachelor’s and master’s degree programs are offered at universities and four-year colleges. Students should expect to be in school for a minimum of four-years based upon full-time enrollment. Programs include core courses such as behavior management, curriculum and instruction, human development, introduction to special education, psychology, sociology and statistics. Students also spend a semester in a special education classroom or resource room working with special needs students of all ages and disabilities. Students also obtain a teacher’s license to work in the state of Utah.
