Specialized Teaching in California
Specialized teaching schools offer students a wide number of degree options and specialized areas of focus. Two-year associate’s degrees are rarely offered, but many students obtain a two- year degree before transferring to a four-year college or university to complete the specialized teaching program. Most schools in California that offer a specialized teaching degree offer bachelor’s and master’s degrees, although doctoral options are also available. Students who graduate from one of the many degree programs are qualified to work with a wide range of specialized programs and students, from students with learning disabilities and adult learners, to ESL students, and dual language learners.
