Specialized Teaching in Georgia

Specialized teaching schools offer students several educational options for a career in the classroom. Specialized teachers are becoming more prominent as educators are choosing to focus on specific content areas or student populations. Specialized teachers can choose to concentrate on teaching adult learners, non-native English speakers, students with disabilities, or dual-language learners. Content areas include reading, language arts, writing, mathematics and science. Specialized teachers usually work in the K-12 public education system or the community college system. Jobs are expected to grow much faster than the average occupation but are largely dependent on government funding and spending decisions at the state level.
