Specialized Teaching in Maryland

Specialized Teaching in Maryland

Specialized teaching schools offer students a wide range of options at the bachelor’s and master’s degree level. Specialized teachers choose to focus their efforts on assisting students with special needs in the classroom. Areas of focus may be specialized in writing, math, English, reading or language arts. Career options vary with the specialized teaching program. Specialized teachers may become employed as English as a second language (ESL) instructors, GED teachers at the community college level, writing center directors, or elementary school teaching specialists. A bachelor’s degree is required for employment at the entry-level and a master’s degree is highly favorable.
