Specialized Teaching in Minnesota

Specialized teaching schools offer students degree programs at the bachelor’s and master’s degree levels. Specialized teachers typically choose to focus their efforts on becoming experts in specific areas of education such as reading, writing, math, curriculum development, or working with certain populations. Specialized teachers may be employed as reading specialists at an elementary school, GED instructors at a community college, or writing center directors who help students hone their writing skills. Students who choose this route for their education should be prepared to obtain at least a four-year bachelor’s degree. Many students also pursue a master’s degree in specialized teaching.
