Specialized Teaching in Utah

Specialized teaching schools prepare students for careers in specialty fields such reading, language arts, math, science, adult basic education, special education, and science. Specialized teaching programs typically are offered at universities and award bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Specialized teachers teach at all levels of education within the K-12 system. Students who enroll in specialized teaching schools typically do so upon completing general education requirements and lower division teaching classes. Core classes may include teaching and learning theory, classroom management, educational psychology, and instructional technology. Students also take several courses within the subject matter they plan on teaching.
